Final Fantasy XIV Online (FF14) Announced!

At this years E3 a big shocker was the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV Online. There is already an official website for North America, which features the new trailer shown. Here is a little tidbit on what to expect from Final Fantasy XIV Online:

Talk about this being the codename Rapture has flooded message boards and gaming communities alike, due to pictures being leaked with the Crystal Tools logo imprinted on the pictures, and the resembalance to Final Fantasy XI. We can expect to see Galkas, Humes, Elvaans, Mithras and Taru-Taru once again in this title. Hopefully more information will release in due time.

I'm interested to see how this is going to turn out. It's strange that the very same races in XI are going to be in XIV, yet it's a completely different world. I wonder if it follows up with the storyline in XI in some way, referring it to the rapture is strange as well. I wonder if it's the aftermath of the rapture that will take place in XI or it's square's way of saying that they are finished with XI and only focusing on XIV, which I doubt. I'm also curious of what the gameplay is going to be like, the same or not the same, maybe different elements and fighting style. It's hard for any of us to tell anything right now.

well well...i wonder for those of us who don't have a strong network or the required specifications to play a game online,can it be played OFFLINE???without net and everything???

To be honest, I don't really know, although I doubt it.

I've never had any console hooked up to the net either, mostly because where I have lived only dial-up is usually available. :/ That and I'm not quite sure how to get it connected either.

I don't have any next-gen consoles yet. Still only my PS2.

My sister has a XBOX 360 though. I tried to play mp4 videos on it but it said we needed to connect it to the net to get some upgrade for it to play them though... so I'd like to find out how to connect it.
